Brilliant Course

I have never seen a course that encapsulates the inspiration, imagination and aspiration of America, while also holding its hypocrisy and where it falls short in equal measure. Outstanding!

Recommended

I really would recommend this course to everyone interested in understanding "how we got here" both as a nation and as the human species. Appel's conceptual mastery of the "American idea" and all that goes into creating a healthy national identity is like none I have ever seen.

Very Helpful

In a world of disinformation and straight up lies, this course gives us the tools to decipher what is real and what is not, and most importantly, carefully illustrates why this deeply matters. Ms. Appel successfully orchestrates a cultural, political and human perspective on what makes a country "a people" and how technology and media can be used to help get us there or drive us apart.
